HN Reader is designed for iOS 8 and developed entirely in Swift.

HN Reader offers a practical today widget that updates each time you pull down the notification center. This feature allows you to quickly view the latest headlines and open them in Safari.

In addition, HN Reader functions fully offline, with the news feed being refreshed in the background using the iOS background refresh feature and offering robust caching mechanisms.

Users can easily save articles to the Safari Reading List with a simple cell swipe. The Safari Reading List is a valuable resource as it saves each article for offline reading. In the future, there will be an option to automatically send the latest articles to the Safari Reading List.

As a comprehensive Hacker News client, HN Reader allows users to read comments for any item.

This app is compatible with both iPhone and iPad, offering the same set of features on both devices.

Currently, HN Reader does not support logging in with your Hacker News account; it is a read-only application. However, this feature, along with others, will be added soon!

The application is entirely open source, allowing users to contribute features or enhance development speed if desired.

When embarking on the development of HN Reader, the goal was to create a new application entirely from scratch in Swift tailored for iOS 8 with minimal code. The aim for future updates is to maintain this approach.
